USPR sponsors Friends of Refugees Job Fair

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Clarkston, Georgia (April 24, 2019) — US Plastics Recovery, a leading processor of post-industrial plastic scrap, exhibited at the Friends of Refugees Job Fair on April 19, 2019 at the Clarkston Community Center in Clarkston, Georgia. This year’s conference had over 500 attendees from over 20 countries and over 30 exhibitors and sponsors.

The April event is USPR’s first time presenting at the fair.  USPR president Daniel Nolan stated “USPR has several United Nations designated refugees working at our Lawrenceville facility. We have found them to be highly dedicated employees that day-in and day-out put out finished products that compete directly with virgin resins in many stringent end-use applications.”

“To gain UN refugee status, an individual had to have been forced to flee his or her  home country because of persecution, war, or violence. Many refugees have endured hardships that are difficult to contemplate. The US is very picky regarding the refugees admitted to this nation. The interview process for US entry is extensive. It requires the UN designee to prove positive reasons to be admitted into the US program. The organizer of the fair, Friends of Refugees, brings together refugees, non-profits, and hiring employers in pursuit of refugee well-being, education, and employment. US Plastics Recovery is honored to be a sponsor of this organization.”

USPR to Exhibit at the Plastics Recycling Conference in DC March 11-13, 2019

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Lawrenceville, Georgia (March 7, 2019) — US Plastics Recovery, a leading processor of post-industrial plastic scrap, will showcase its capabilities at the upcoming Plastics Recycling Conference in Washington, DC. The previous year’s conference had over 2,000 attendees from 35 countries and 200 exhibitors and sponsors. This year’s conference will be held in Washington, DC from March 11-13, 2019.

The March event will be USPR’s second time presenting at the conference.  “It is an important venue for USPR, because of the opportunity to interface with leading plastic product producers and compounders needing to liquidate their scrap or needing toll processing services,” stated Steve Hogan, Chief Trading Officer of US Plastics Recovery. “USPR tripled production capacity in 2018. We moved into a much larger facility, added a second float-sink-wash system, added a brand-new 62″ 150 horsepower Vecoplan shredder, and completely refurbished our existing Vecoplan 70″ 200 horsepower HiTorc shredder. We expanded and balanced our entire process, which includes shredding, granulating, screening, washing, elutriating, floating, and brokering. Our new plant is outfitted with the latest IT and it is hungry. We added many clients at last year’s conference and we hope to do the same this year.”

Professionals from the plastics industry come to the conference to advance their learning about new machinery, technology, and suppliers in the plastics industry. The conference provides compounders, molders, and other plastics firms with the venue to engage with service suppliers like US Plastics Recovery to discuss how to advance their materials processing performance. The conference and tradeshow are expected to draw more than 2,000 attendees to the DC area.

US Plastics Recovery will host an exhibit at booth #239 at the conference in the Gaylord National Resort and Conference Center. We invite conference attendees to visit the USPR booth to learn more about our company and to speak to our technical sales team about how USPR can help them with their plastics scrap and raw material requirements.

USPR Expands Float-Wash Capacity 4X

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Lawrenceville, Georgia – November 20, 2018 – US Plastics Recovery (“USPR”), a leading processor of industrial polymer scrap, announced today that it will quadruple its float-wash capacity to 25MM lbs. per year. For more information on the USPR float-sink purification process, please see this case study.

“We are pleased to announce a large planned increase in float-wash capacity at our new facility in Lawrenceville, Georgia. We no longer have to turn away customers needing purification services due to insufficient float-wash capacity,” said Chief Trading Officer Steve Hogan. “This new machinery cleans up contaminated floor sweeps and other mixed polymer streams, turning them into molding materials that can be used in applications with stringent raw material quality requirements. We already had existing capacity with this same process. The only difference is now we are able to do much more of it. This increased float-sink capability works well with the tripling of shredding capacity we added earlier this year. Like any tool, it is the skill of user that makes the work. We will have to figure it out.”

USPR covered in Spring, 2018 Plastics Recycling Update magazine

USPR invests $1MM in its new Lawrenceville, Georgia location.

US Plastics Recovery had industry magazine coverage of its recent strategic expansion in the Spring, 2018 edition of Plastics Recycling Update. The “Reclaimer in Focus” article described USPR’s new facility located in Lawrenceville, Georgia and the company’s investments in equipment and information systems. Over $1MM will be invested in this new location by the end of 2018. The resulting facility configuration will triple capacity over the previous facility.

US Plastics Recovery moved into its 70,000 square foot facility at the beginning of 2018 and immediately added new capacity. The company installed a 62″ Vecoplan high-production plastics shredder and a 52″ Vecoplan machine dedicated to medical device destruction. USPR is increasing its screening and flotation capacity with the addition of two more production lines in the third quarter of 2018. The comprehensive and proprietary IT systems implemented at the last plant gave the company real-time data visibility on production, inventory, sales, margin yield, scheduling, and other critical aspects of the business.

The company is now in possession of significant competitive advantages in the areas of information, cost, throughput, and quality. The capacity addition piles volume on top of the fully operational information systems and quality processes.

USPR triples plastics recycling shredding capacity

USPR installs 70″ HiTorc Vecoplan plastics shredder as part of its 2018 strategic capacity expansion plan.

US Plastics Recovery is tripling its plastics recycling shredding capacity with the addition of a Vecoplan 70 HiTorc 250 HP shredder. In a statement on the startup of the machine, chief trading officer Steve Hogan said:

“I am very pleased to see this large shredder in place at the facility. USPR is experiencing increasing demand for industrial plastics recycling. This machine will result in quicker job turn-around and allow us to bring in waiting prospective clients. It brings us to the next step in our plan to triple total company capacity by year-end when a second float/wash machine goes on-line. Our customers are able to use our product at higher proportions than are typical for recycled plastics. Our customers reduce their materials costs by using recycled product rather than virgin resin. We have seen customers use our products at even 100%.”
